Tuesday, November 7th: Clark Eagles… Johnson HAWKS !!!

Most golfers know that a Hole in One is rarer than an Eagle.  However, getting a Hawk is rarer than a Hole in One!!!  Today, Mike Clark Eagled #15, but only to be outdone by Charlie Johnson, who got a Hawk… a Red Tail Hawk, to be precise!  Just prior to today’s round, Charlie, shockingly discovered a hawk in his screened in porch.  He attempted several methods to encourage the hawk to exit, but to no avail.  Charlie then geared up with his makeshift falconry clothing, which allowed him to grab the hawk and take it out the door.  The hawk’s talons were dug into Charlie’s thick glove and he had to pry the talons loose.  The hawk flew to a nearby tree limb and perched, while looking thankfully towards Charlie!!!

NOTE:   Closest to the holes are now #7 & #11.

Conditions:  On Tuesday, Eight old timers participated: 73-76 degrees, 4-13 mph winds, 60% humidity, good fairways and fairly fast greens.

Team Winners:  Clark, Dunlavy, Eggert & Moosman swept the front (+1), back (+3) and total (+4).

Individual Winners:  Moosman takes the front (+2).  Clark takes the back & total, both with a +6.

Closest to the Holes:  Hall won #7 and Clark #11.

Even/Plus Points Club: Clark (+6)…  Eggert & Purschke (€).
