Not much to report yesterday in Scotland…. I made it my goal to try and play 18 and at that I had hoped to brave the wind and set my par as bogey for every hole. I managed to only play 5 holes as the wind was so strong that putting was impossible. If I missed which was often, the wind would blow the ball elsewhere and most often well past where my first putt was attempted.
I also could not keep my trolley and clubs upright. Despite having the brake on, the wind would just push it around until it toppled over. I gave it my best shot but enough was enough.
I walked in, played the 18th and headed to the Glenmorangie distillery for a tour.
The friendly barkeep who also happened to be a member of Tain made sure I had an adequate sampling of the distillery’s finest.
After a lengthy stay chatting with the bartender, out of necessity to sober up, I drove up to Dornoch Luckily by evening the wind had subsided a bit and I was able to wind down the day on the putting green.
Today I’m off for another crack at Brora with my caddie friend Cameron. Should be a nicer day with better weather!
