Mike Clark in Thailand: Final Chapter

Well another Thailand golf adventure has come to a close with new friends met and future connections made. This is a special place to play golf, but even if the golf clubs were not in tow, Thailand would just be a lovely place to visit and immerse yourself in the culture, food and cities. In Bangkok alone and the suburbs that I’ve been playing golf around, there are 17.7 million people. In the entire state of Missouri there are 6.15 million.

It’s amazing when you are driving because as far as you can see into the Horizon… it’s just building after building after building. It’s never ending.

In no way does it seem like I’ve been here a month.

If there is one thing I can say about the Thai people is that they are genuine. They smile and are friendly because they honestly feel that way. It’s not a front as it often seems to be the case in the states.

I’ve done my best to make a positive impact on those who I’ve come in contact with to leave a good impression as I know they have impacted me.

Today I was back at Royal Gems City with my crew from yesterday. Golf was very slow today but my gal of the day “WANTHANA” was the star of the show. She was so pleasant and upbeat we laughed and joked all the way around and it made for an enjoyable day.

This is the Amen corner course and I must say they have done a great job on holes 10-13. Very similar to Augusta National and when the Bougainvillea flowers are in full bloom it would certainly showcase itself. It’s still a great test and it’s fun to play and worthy of a repeat next year. Also on a side note, after talking with the owner of Golf Asia and members of my group, it seems next year about this time, I’ll be making a detour to Vietnam as the golf there is touted as equal to here and in many aspects better!

All for now and see you all soon on the tee of Franklin County!
