Golf Quote: “A perfectly straight shot
with a big club is a fluke.” – Jack Nicklaus Even the greats admit that driving
is part science, part sorcery.
Golf Stuff: As of the 2025–26 academic year, NCAA Division I men's golf teams
can offer up to 9 scholarships per team. That’s a significant increase from the
previous cap of 4.5 scholarships. Here’s
how it works: Equivalency Sport: Men’s
golf is classified as an equivalency sport, meaning those 9 scholarships can be
split into partial scholarships across the roster. Roster Limit: Teams are now limited to 9
athletes, and each one is eligible for a full or partial scholarship. Full Rides Are Rare: Because coaches often
divide scholarship funds among several players, full-ride scholarships are
uncommon.
Quota Increases: All (+1): Miller
Quota Decreases: Meyer (-2)… Clark (-1)
