"Thar She Blows!!!!!!!!"

Charlie Curtis mentioned today that FCCC might be the only golf course in the world on which you could play directly into the wind on all 18 holes.  It seemed that way today.  In fact, on 16, Charlie's drive went through the green, took a left turn and almost ended up on 14-green.  He hit what I thought was a good pitch.  I was standing on the left side of the green watching Charlie's shot.  As soon as his ball rose above the top of the hill, the wind hit it.  The ball seem to stop its forward progress and rose even more before dropping straight down on the side of the hill.  In all my years, I've never seen a ball do that from up close.  But the wind didn't seem to bother Voss, Hall, Dunlavy and newcomer Brad Mitchell.  All four finished the day at "plus."  And, that's saying something!  Congrats to them all.

Mitchell's +5 front ... an even par 35 ... propelled his teammates, Curtis, Kossmann and Dister to a +3 victory on the front.  Voss, Hall and Sharma took the back and total thanks to +3s on the inward 9 from Voss and Hall.  Combined with their even front and Ray's even back, they squeaked by total at +1.

Speaking of squeaking by, Brad's +5 took individual on the front and left Tom's +4 good enough for 2nd.  Voss, Hall and Dister tied for 3rd at Even.  Voss and Hall split 1st and 2nd on the back at +3 and Dunlavy took third at +1.  Dunlavy's +5 total easily won that third with Voss and Hall's +3 splitting 2nd and 3rd.

Hall took the greenie on 7 and Eggert got 14.

BACK IN THE HOOD ON A BEAUTIFUL DAY

It has been quite a while since I've had to put thoughts to paper (I know this isn't paper, but you get my drift). Today Dave D, Leroy and I had the pleasure of a four hour stand up routine from Bob. Horses and chickens, with a cadillac;Sven and Ingrid and tuna, Sven again and Lars with a donkey. If you are not familiar with these, Bob will be in town next Saturday and Tuesday. Team Charlie, Voss and Johnson along with Rich thought that they would be dragging back a few dineros on the front with a very nice plus 7, but not so fast boys...Dave D, Bob, Leroy and yours truly produced a scorching plus 9 to take the front. Then ended up plus 7 on the back for plus 16 total to sweep the team game. My three amigos made 9 or 10 birdies today!! On punched greens no less. Dave was a dancing fool with 4 birdies. Dave, Bob and Rich win the front with plus 4's. Leroy and yours truly tie the back with plus 3's. Dave takes third with plus 2. Dave wins total, plus 6, Leroy plus 5, and Tom plus 4. Oldtimers don’t fear weather

Tuesdays tidbits.....Winds 10 mph gusting to 15, temperatures mid 40's, newely punched greens, never fear. With abundant sunshine a good time was had by all those wearing long pants! Leroy was the golfer of the day winning total, tying back, placing front and winning closest on 14. He chose his partners poorly however and team one lead by Tom n Charlie J along with Bill n Mike swept the team game. Tom won front and tied for 2nd total with CJ who tied back with Bill n Leroy. The Days Dwindle Down

We're at the midpoint of the last month of the season ...  and a beautiful day it was.  Gentle breeze ... low 70s ... and only three fivesomes in front of us.  The first team out set the pace for the day.  Team Eggert swept all three team bets at +5, +3, +8.  Bill Hall took charge of the front at +3.  Leroy Eggert thought the back was a pushover at even par ... +5.  And Leroy's +5 carried over to decisively win total at +5.  Dister's +2, +1, +3 swept second individual.  Charlie Voss took third front at +1.  Bob Coleman's Even was good for third on the back.  And Hall's Even on total placed third for him.  Only three of the ten participants were Even or better for the day.

There was no Greenie on #7.  Leroy's 10-footer (which he converted with a rare birdie) held up on #14.

How'd Ya Like Pin On #8, Boys?

We're thinking of starting a Go Fund Me page for the guy who decides where to cut the pins.  The money would be used to send him to Pin Placement School.  And then, whenever someone in our group 5-putts because the pin is sticking sideways out of a hill, he would have to pay a portion of it back.  When the green speeds are running 11+ on the Stimp, you really should be a little more careful.

We had 15 players today.  I think that might be a record.  It was good to see Mike Clark again.  And we always look forward to Jimmy E. and Ryan C. joining the group.  It was tough out there today.  The winds were swirling and the greens were fast.  Two guys out of the 13 finished "plus."  Greg Curran at +2 and Mack Miller at +1.  The other 13 were "minus."

The team of Curran, Voss and Dister were -4, +3, -1.  They tied Coleman, Dunlavy, Moosmann and Aholt on the front at -4 and otherwise swept the back and total.  That was completely attributable to the unbelievable back nine play of Greg Curran ... +4.  The front individual was split by Coleman and Miller at +1.  Crow and Dister split third at Even.  Second to Curran on the back was Dunlavy at +2 and Crow and Purschke split third at +1.  Total was taken by Curran's +2. Miller was second at +1 and Purschke, Crow and Dister split third at -1.

Mike Clark brought the 54-yard 7th to its knees for the Greenie (cart paths were being installed to force a shortening of the hole.)  And newcomer Drew Herrick nailed the Greenie on 14.

Charlie Johnson -1 to 29  Bill Hall -1 to 28.  Terry Moosmann -1 to 27.  Jim Eichelberger -1 to 32.  Drew Herrick -1 to 27. And Ryan Crow has the honor of being the only Oldtimer to see his quota increase.  He is now a 33.  He dropped a 29, added a 31 and that 1/5th of a point kicked his quota all the way up to 33.

The Last Time ... Ever

The group of 9 voted. The result of the vote will prevail. We will award Bob Coleman the Greenie on #7 today even though he forgot to mark it. We will never award a Greenie to someone who forgets to mark the Greenie again. It was a unanimous vote. Bob is recovering from Covid. His mind was momentarily diminished by illness. He gets the last unmarked Greenie ... ever. 

Also of note is that two Oldtimers prevailed for Third Place in the Tom Beste Member/Member tourney this past weekend. Messrs. Moosmann and Kossmann had the right stuff. Congrats to you from the group. 

Today, the Charlie Voss team ... which also included Johnson and Dister ... swept the team event +6, Even, +6. This commanding victory was totally due to the outstanding play of Charlie Voss who won individually the front and total (+6 and +7) while only tieing the back with Paul Nealis at +1. Tom Dunlavy won 2nd Front and total at +3, +2. Dave Dister won third front at +2 and tied for third with Nealis at +1. Of interest is that all three team members shot their age today. You already know who won the Greenie on #7 and Kenny Triplett won it on #14. The Greenies will remain on #7 and #14 until the end of the season on October 31.

Leaf rule

Effective immediately the fall leaf rule will be in effect for the Krakow Oldtimers. When it is the team consensus that a lost ball has been hit into an area of significant leaves and it is more than 10 yards away from a hazard a ball may be dropped without penalty. If the consensus is that it has been hit into or within 10 yards of a hazard and cannot be found then it must be considered to be in the hazard and the appropriate penalty assessed. The USGA allows 3 minutes to look for a lost ball.

Records Are Made To Be Broken

It's amazing what slick greens and flags sticking sideway on hills can do the Oldtimers. Well the team of Charilie Voss, Charlie Johnson, Rich Purschke and newcomer Drew Herrick can attest to the fact that pin placements can play havoc on scores. Yes indeed, folks, the team just mentioned set a new Oldtimers record of (drumroll) -30. They were 33 strokes behind the winning team of Aholt, Curran, Miller and Dunlavy. (+6, -3, +3) Team Aholt was the only team to have a "plus" side and it was due to the fine play of Messrs. Aholt and Curran. Dave was +5, -2, +3. Greg was +1, +2, +3 ... the only player to be plus on all three. Aholt wins the front and Blackwell, Dunlavy and Curran split 2nd and 3rd at +1.Curran wins the back at +2. Hall takes 2nd at even and Miller takes 3rd at -1. Curran and Aholt split 1st and 2nd total at +3. Hall and Dunlavy split 3rd at -1. No repot was given on who won the Greenies, but rumor has it that "if you're in the last group ... like Aholt and Curran ... and you don't win the Greenies, you're just cheating yourself." Yet Another Team Sweep

Moosmann, Purschke, Coleman and Aholt prevailed. Three of the four were positive and one was only slightly negative. They were +1, +2 +3 and they were the only team recording a plus side of the three teams that competed. Out of the 10 players, Aholt easily took the front at +4. Hall and Kossmann split 2nd and 3rd at +1. Charlie Voss and Bob Coleman were +4 on the back. They split 1st and 2nd. Terry Moosmann''s +1 was good enough for third. Charlie Voss takes total at +3 with 2nd and 3rd being split by Aholt and Coleman at +2. Voss takes the Greenie on 7 and Aholt wins 14. 40% of the 10-man field had positive numbers. Some found the conditions easy, some ... not so much. A beautiful, early autumn day brought a variety of scores. The teams were easy to figure. Team Dunlavy with a big assist by Coleman and an attempt to drag it down by Dister won the front at +6. Team Hall led by Curran, Blackwell and Aholt took the back and total at +2 and +7. My scoresheet is so full of scratch marks from score changes, lets just say Coleman, Dunlavy, Kossmann, Voss, Curran, Blackwell and Aholt all won something individually. I can only hope they got paid close to what they earned. Coleman got the greenie on 5. Aholt scored on 11. Bob Coleman +1 to 34. Dave Dister -1 to 27. Rich Purschke -1 to 23. Leroy Eggert -1 to 26. Border Guard Sets All Time Earnings Record

Bob (Border Guard) Coleman splits 1st and 2nd Individual on the front with Hall and wins $3.50. He does the same on the back with Charlie Voss and rakes in another $3.50. He greedily takes total at +3 all by himself and grabs $4.00. He wins all three legs of the team with pardzies Moosmann, Miller and Hall and stacks $3.75 more on his pile. And to top it off, wins the greenie on #11 for $3.25 more. That's a total of $18.00. Quite a day, Mr. Coleman. And you did it with a 1-over 72 ... on aerated greens. By the way, #5 greenie was taken by Moosmann. Both greenie winners were in the last group. Verifying once again that ... to quote Loghead ... "If you're in the last group and you don't win the Greenies, you're just cheating yourself." There was a 3-way split for third on the front. Loghead takes third on the back. What course was he playing?

On a day when Mother Nature reminded us that she can easily turn a 95-degree Wednesday into a 72-degree, swirling-wind, Thursday, Tim (Hardwood) Morris blistered the front nine with a 1-under par +6. He dominated front and total (+4) individual, but his +6 wasn't enough to drag his team of CV, DA and GC into first. That was handled by Dennis (The Menace) Kossmann who was +3 (2nd individual.) He took DD and TD to victory on the front and total. They were +2 ... the only plus team side of the day ... and -2 total. The back was won by BC, RP, BH and TMoosmann at even. Four guys split 3rd on the front at even. The back individual was split three ways at +1. TMoosmann, BH and DD. 2nd total was split by the same three guys at +1. DK won the front greenie and DD won the back. Eleven players competed compliling a cumulative -22. (No reason discussing the pin positions. We all had to play them. The Brutality of September 20

Nine Oldtimers wore light-colored, loose-fitting clothing today.  The temperature was forecast to hit 93 with high humidity to boot.  Somebody also cut new pin placements.  I doubt seriously if the culprit with the hole-cutter was actually an employee.  They were dandies ... just right for very fast greens on a very hot day.  Your Acting Commish hit two greens in regulation today ... the greenie holes ... 5 and 11.  I'll be telling you all about my winning shot on five after I skim over the the results.

The team of TD, DA and LE (I list them with the top contributor first and then the lesser contributors in descending order) won the front at +2.  The team of BC, DK and CV won the back and total at +1 and Even.  TD easily won the front, tied for first on the back and won total with a tasty +5, +2, +7.  BC split the honors on the back with his +2. RP, BC and DK split 2nd and 3rd on the front with +1s.  CV gets 3rd on the back with +1.  BC wins 2nd total at +3 and BH wins 3rd total at -1.

OK, now for me.  I got to 5 with a swirling wind challenging a back-center pin.  I decided to feather a little 11-wood in there to hold the green.  All this thought took 2.4 seconds, because we noticed BC looking at his watch on 4.  He hadn't taken his second shot yet, but he was noticeably annoyed at the pace of play.  Anyway, I took a hefty swing and hit the ground about 1.5 inches behind the ball.  The force closed the face and turned my little butter-cut into a rope-hook that hit the bank above the bunker in an ideal place.  The ball popped onto the green, ran down the hill (yes, the front of 5 is higher than the back.  No answer as to why) and ended up about 20 feet past the pin ... on the green ... closer than my teammates.  I curled the 20-foot-right-to-lefter into the hole ... and even with a birdie shot my worst, competitive round of the year ... a -7 86.  Hall was on the phone while I was creating magic and was visibly surprised to find that it was my shot, not Purschke's.

Club champion hangover

On a beautiful day for golf(or anything else outside) most of the 9 Oldtimers came in with excellent scores. Mr 300 led the way with a 2 under par front winning front n total with a +10. Mr CPA warmed up with a +3 (3rd) on the front then posted a +5 back(1st) and 2nd on total, Honorable mention to DA n RP for 2nd place on front n back. DA, CV, n TD scored well to win front but their +11 total wasn't good enough to beat Tm, RP, n DK who won back n total with +9 n +12. The Lumber Baron, one of our recent senior club champions was apparently depressed not to receive a parking space like in the good old days. He did win closest on 11 while Motor Home won on 3. So what was it that caused Dave D's Turn around from -3 on the front to a +3 on the back. logically it might have been the adrenaline produced following his Thelma and Louise moment. Or it could've been the gratitude he felt towards his partner Mike who waded through knee-deep poison ivy to rescue his clubs n stuff, or perhaps it was the quiet mentoring, compassion, and understanding shown by his Caption Bob(traits for which he is legendary). Regardless, one thing is certain, if Missouri mandates driving test for 80 and older we boyz in trouble...... thanks to Mike's recommendation we welcomed a new member, Dave Viox, into the group on Thursday........ as for the match CJ got out to a fast start and won the front with +4. His excitement must have spilled over to his teammates since together they routed the competition in the team game. Tuesday, Ryan Crowe, who is barely old enough to shave, busted into our a game and cleared most of the money off the table. A little rain didn't get in the way of three stalwarts ... Coleman, Hall and Voss ... and one guy who I thought would be the last to show up in questionable weather ... Mr. Wilfred Aholt. Six Oldtimers teed of Saturday on a beautiful day for golf. By the time they reached the 19th hole 2 of them had lapped the field. Tim Morris (kneepads) shot a scorching +7, +7 to win front n total. A majority of the eight all timers rebounded Tuesday from Saturday's debacle to post positive scores. Rich jumped out to a +4 on the front to win singles, closest on 7 and propel his team to victory. It wasn'd the heat, the wind was gentle, the greens were rolling ok. so exactly how do you explain a team -22. bio rhythms maybe, domestic issues perhaps, or having 2 brown carts in the group could have led to confusion and golfers were mistakenly hitting each others clubs. Seven oldtimers set out Tuesday in a light drizzle which was much enjoyed after the heat wave we just experienced. Two of the 4 man team would boast the same quota but while one would rise to the highest level the other would flounder and fall into the abyss. The border guard would report the only plus score on the front and would have led his team to victory except Loghead triple bogeyed his way to an ignominious -8. The other team(and i use the term loosely) of Bill, Greg, n Mike won front with a -6. Providing inspiration with 5 birdie's on the back and plenty of inspirational talk (vulgarity) Bob and his henchman Grizzly (with 3 birdies of his own) carried Loghead n Retread to victory on back n total. Bill won closest on 5 and true to the statement "there is no fairness in golf" Loghead won closest on 11 even though Mike, who forgot to mark, was probably closer. loghead was last seen taking his ill gotten winnings to buy lottery tickets".............Bob Coleman +2 to 34. We fought the course and “WE won”.

Greg left no birdie unmade romping over the front at +7, tying the back, and winning total with a smooth +8. It was, however, Mac and his band of merry men(Loghead n The Auditor) who won the team trifecta. Mac took second on the front with a cool +5, tied back with Greg n Loghead and took 2nd on total with +7. He will not however, enjoy his winnings since it is almost certain the club will bill him for damage when his ball hit the pin on 5 and damaged the cup leaving his ball within 6" of the cup for closest on 5. The team of Charlie Voss, Bill Hall and Greg Curran swept all three legs of Saturday's event +3, -1, +2 over the hapless team of Tom Dunlavy, Leroy Eggert and Terry Moosmann. Outbid outdoes himself

There was only one story today, and that was the excellence of Mike Clark. In spite of a little bad luck on #16 fairway sand trap he scored 10 birdies and an awesome 64. He scored a singles slam and led his team of Ryan and Leroy to a win on front, total, and tie on back. Dave A was the perfect bridesmaid taking 2nd on front and total plus tying the back. The act of a teams (see border guard) losing possession of a ball through error or minor violation of the rules.... loghead got out quick and stayed the course for a singles sweep (+3, +3, +6)on Tuesday. THE RETURN OF "JZ" Not the husband of Beyonce, but the return of a very good golfer named Josh Zastrow. It's been a long time, Josh. Welcome back. Josh was joined by 6 other Oldtimers on a rare, cool, Saturday in July. Josh was joined by Hall and Moosmann. All three contributed to a solid performance. They beat the team of Eichelberger, Curran, Purschke and Kossmann on the front and total ... Even and +3. Dennis Kossmann's outstanding +4 propelled his team to victory on the back. Individually, Bill Hall's +1 on the front was good enough for first. Zastrow and Eichelberger shared second on the front with Even. The back was a different story. Only 1 out of 7 Oldtimers (who will remain nameless) posted a negative score. Dennis' aforementioned +4 took first and Moosmann's +3 took second. Return of the Keh’s

The Keh Sisters were the 2022 incarnation of the James Gang. Munchkin and Wenyung Keh joined ten Oldtimers today, giving us three, equal foursomes. They took home the loot and quietly went to Meramec Caverns to stash it. At $3.50 entry fee it wasn't that much, but it was worth the price of admission to watch them play. Wenyung, with Coleman, Moosmann and Dister, took the front at +4. She shot a 32 (+3), which we thought was pretty good, but all it could do was tie her sister, Munchin for individual honors. Mike Clark and Terry Moosmann split 3rd at +2. Munchin's team included Charlie Voss, Kossmann and Eichelberger. Her 32 (+4) on the back helped their team go +4, +5 to win back and total. Munchin Keh shot 64 folks! Individually, Mike Clark's friend David Lee and Dister shot +2 on the back to split 2nd and 3rd. Needless to say, Munchin's +7 won individual total, while Wenyoung took 2nd at +3 and Kossmann and Dister split 3rd at +1. It was hot and steamy, and if you couldn't putt the slow greens and weird pin placements like the Keh sisters ... and none of us could ... you couldn't score. +1 was the best the Oldtimers could do, +7 and +3 from the Keh Sisters. Outbid took off like a house a-fire with a +5 on the front. Jimbo's eagle on 4 got him 2nd. Seven players showed up. Six have different quotas as of today's play. The three man team of C. Voss, Kossmann and Dister won the Front and total at +4 and +3. The four-man team of Hall, Dunlavy, Moosmann and Curran won the Back at +5. Individually, five of the seven were at +2 on the front and split 1st and 2nd money. Bill Hall was +4 on the back and took first. Tom and Charlie V. were at +2 and split 2nd. Hall again prevailed at +6 for total and Tom and Charlie split 2nd total at +4. Welcome to new member Greg Curran

With our new member Greg joining 11 other oldtimers on a great day for golf it was the course that lost for a change. The final total was +35 for the whole group. The onslaught was led by Charlie J and Leroy who tied total with +7 and led Bob n Dave to team wins on front n total with a crazy +20. CJ won front and Greg won back. Bill, with a +6 and Rich with a +5 were solid in helping Charlie V n Tom to team victory on the back. Closest to the pin were Bob on 7 and Mike on 14. AJGA notes. For anyone wanting to see good golf this week was a bonanza. I followed a young girl (Asia Young) from Bend Oregon who was staying in my daughters Airbnb. Two, not so old, Oldtimers teed it up Saturday after playing 18 in the morming. It worked. Jimbo n Outbid started strong and stayed the course. Their partner, Motor Home, won the front and their other partner, The Lumber Baron, was +2 for a team total of +14 on the front. Even their -6 on the back was enough for a team trifecta. Jimbo won total at +5 and tied Grizzly for back. Jimbo n Outbid took closest...........As everybody knows the AJGA tournament will run Monday thru Thursday. Mysterious disappearance

Questions abound regarding the whereabouts of Mr 300 over the last week. Although he claims to have been nursing his wife back to health there are those who think he may have been at a Dave Peltz advanced short game school. Thursday he returned with a vengeance to shoot a +3+4+7 to tie the front and run away with back and total. Homeless golfers invade FCCC Oldtimers

It was inevitable, a sign of the times. it only takes a leisurely drive through downtown and the local parks to realize that homelessness is an issue in our town. Thursday, four of them invaded our sacred Oldtimers golf game. they were easy to spot, three of them putted from the wrong side of the ball and the other pretended to be in the Lumber business. some of our Oldtimers rose to the occasion. Jimbo, saddled with two of the indigents( Loghead n the Lumber Baron) fired off a +5, +1, +6 to tie for front with a +5, tie back, and win total. The family dunlavy, with Jeff tieing the front and taking 2nd total took front and total team despite having to take Lefty Leroy to the soup kitchen at the turn. The team of Motor Home, Outbid, and the border guard, devoid of homelessness, powered to victory on back n total. Divot repair day

Tuesday was divot repair day. 16 eager clubbers including Oldtimers Missle Man and Loghead teamed up with Borgia golfers and coaches to spread nearly 5 tons of sand over every one of Jimbo's professional divots. some of his divots were in heavy rough and a few were out of bounds (wait, did i say out of bounds). Following this a nice rain Wednesday helped our repair job and should definitely enhance the enjoyment of our members and guests in the Krakow Cup this weekend..... please remember to sand your divots and one other this summer.........Thursdays matches were a race to incompetence with the final total 32 below. Charlie Voss bucked the trend however with a +1, +3, +4 to take front, back, n total plus closest on 7. Leroy n Bob played solid and along with Tom carried the Lumber Baron to a team trifecta. Leroy slopped one in on 14 for closest..........Of the 10 players in today's field, 9 of them will have a different quota for their next round. Only two added a point to their quotas. Out of the paddocks and into the starting gates came 9 frisky spirited Oldtimers.The sprinter(Jeff Fortner, a late entry) got out of the chalks fast to win the front and the marathon man(LEROY) won the back n total. It was the herd however (Mr 300, Rocket Man, n Loghead) who romped to an across-the-board victory in the team game. Mr 300 took 2nd on front n total and split on back with Tom. Jeff Fortner had a total lack of respect for the Oldtimers in winning both closest to the holes. The Lumber baron's team questioned his elgibility claiming he wasn't a three year old. The border guard was heard muttering about the added weight he is forced to carry. The auditor ended the festivities by serving up Black Eyed Susans to celebrate his birthday...... Throughout history oddities have been the bane of society. And no nonconformist activity has been more disrespected than left handedness. Back in the day elementary teachers would snap their rulers on the hands of students writing left handed. on the field of battle they would be refered to negatively as "Southpaws". Some of the "Southpaws" however became the cream of the crop. One of our lefthanded oldtimers quarterbacked his team to a state championship. Tuesday, along with the Lumber Baron, he asserted his dominance against 8 other oldtimers getting both closest to the holes, helping Mac n Bill to a sweep in the ream event, tieing front and taking second on total behind the Lumber Baron. Mr 300 tied Leroy on front and was seen after the match giving loghead instructions on how to uncross his eyes to putt better. A long time coming

Unlike most of Oldtimers I not only had never got a hole-in-one I had never seen one before Thursday. So when my shot on #3 landed on the front fringe and bounced toward the hole I just thought good shot. When Dave said it's in the hole I still didn't believe it. Then Mike confirmed it and the celebration was on. Golf is a great game when it can get The adrenaline pumping on a 78 year old. Thanks to the 5 points there I posted a +6 on the front and total winning singles and helping my team of Mike and the Dave's to victory on front, total, and a tie on the back. For 10 of the 11 old timers Tuesday it was an oppressive hot and humid day. But for the border guard just recently returned from duty along the Rio Bravo del Norte it was a walk in the park. Carding a cool 68 he won front n total in singles with +5 n +6 and along with Bill n Mac did the same in the team game. Mr 300 won the back at +3 with Audit man (Terry) and Retread (RP) one stroke behind. Retread also took 2nd on total, tied the front with Outbid (MC), and won closest on 7. The banker (LE) won closest on 14. A bunch of guys tied for 3rd on total and the teams with no Bob's on it tied back. "Most efficient shot" of the day by Loghead when his chip attempt went under the ball barely moving it and therefore not requiring him to change his stance. Taking very seriously their responsibility to uphold the honor of The Krakow Oldtimers Golf Group three members of the group plus one Guy from the projects entered The Washington Historical Society Golf tournament on Monday with blood in their eyes. It wae a relatively small draw albeit one with Brad Carpenter and some young guns as opponents. Off to a torrid start the Oldtimers (The auctioneer, Davey A, n Loghead, plus Hammering Rick Bouse) were 8 under after 7 holes. Battling some trickey pin placements the Oldtimers stayed the course to shoot a 54, 17 under par to beat the young guns by 3..............Tuesday back at the ranch the temperature went from chilly to cold during the round. It didn't bother The Missle Man, who led Mr 300 and the border guard to a team and singles trifecta, the first time this blogger can recall it happening.
